Back Alley Mailbox

Here’s where you can send us things

Hey, you! Want us to publish your stuff? We want to publish it!

Writing:

We’re always looking for game and media reviews from across our community of readers.

As a small publication, our compensation rates are mostly the change we can scrounge out of our car seat cushions.

We pay $0.03 a word for reviews of 1000 words or less and $30 for pieces more than 1000 words.

Unfortunately, due to that same pocket change restriction, we can not support longer, investigative pieces (we always support you, though).

If you have a pitch for a longer idea you just can’t help but send us or a game review you want published, you can reach our managing editor at: dannybackalley@gmail.com

Art:

We pride ourselves on featuring artists of all disciplines, though we haven’t figured out how to send audio through the mail yet, so we’re forced to limit ourselves to visual art only.

If you’ve got comics, animation stills, drawings, paintings, sculptures, or nearly anything else, reach out with samples and we’ll be in touch.

Compensation rates for art are $25 per submission.

To send us art, reach out to our editor-in-chief at: sebvezart@gmail.com

Dev Logs:

Our Dev Log questionnaire can be found here or here and can be filled out at any time for consideration.

Note: If you fill out the form on this website, you’ll need to send us image assets via email in addition to your responses here.

AI Disclaimer

We DO NOT accept any submissions that utilized AI in any form at any point in their creation. If you can’t take the time to write your own code, create your own art, or write us your own email, we won’t waste our readers’ time with your “work.” Sheer human creativity (and stupidity, sometimes) brought you everything your beloved slop robots are copying, including this magazine. If you’re mad about this, you can take solace in the fact that when the AI bubble bursts, your projects will at least be useful as proof of why.

Thank you all for your continued support and submissions, and we look forward to shoving your words and art in the faces of all our subscribers.
